ELLA LEIGH'S TWO MONTH CHECK UP

Ella Leigh had her two month check up on Monday, June 22, 2009.
Nona took Ella Leigh for her check up. It was a very hot and humid day in Memphis. It did not seem to bother Ella Leigh, because Nona cooled off the car first and popped her car seat in the back of Nona's Sequoia and off we went! It was about a 25 -30 minute trip to Dr. Pendegrass' office in East Memphis.
One of the nurses weighed Ella Leigh and got her height. She weighed 11 lbs. 12 ounces, and she was 22 inches long. Dr. Pendegrass was very pleased with her weight and height. He said she was thriving well. He examed her and found her to be "extremely alert". He told Nona that she was holding her neck and head up well, and marking milestones ahead of her physical age.
He had her grasp his hands and she held tight and began to rise on her two feet. He was very pleased to see the strength she had. In fact, at this point, she wants you to sit her up all the time or let her stand up holding both of your hands. She is very inquisitive!
He explained the immunizations that she would be receiving at this 2 month check up. He and Nona talked for a while while he observed Ella Leigh. Ella Leigh seemed to really like Dr. Pendegrass.
His nurse came in the room and gave Ella Leigh her 3 injections and the oral polio vaccine. She cried and fussed for about a minute. After Nona comforted her, we were ready to go.
What a blessing from God to have such a wonderful and healthy little girl. We thank God for her and all the joy she has brought to all of us.
